    Weak and Strong Runs---Change ED.
    3 - DECEMBER 2009
Charlie has done an excellent job on our website, www.runwichita.org, posting all of the race info that has been submitted to him by race directors and it seems redundant to repeat that info in this email so I will no longer report the info that is already on the website. I will report any extra info that is useful if I have it and will remind you to check the site for races in our area.

That being said, here's this week's edition. Run Wichita will not have a club Christmas Party this year. Participation for the past two years has been so low that the board decided to discontinue it at this time. The Derby Running Club will have their Christmas Party/Circuit Awards on Friday, Dec. 18, at the Main Enclosed Shelter at High Park in Derby. A light run will start at 6:30 pm and the rest of the party starts at 7:15 pm. A special invitation is extended to all Run Wichita Members that are not Derby Running Club Members to attend our party. For a mere partly $2 you can enjoy plenty of pizza, drinks, door prizes, etc. and are welcome to join us. We ask that you bring a covered dish of your favorite food to share with others; but, we won't turn you away if you don't. Those who don't belong to either club are welcome to attend for the bank busting sum of $3----just kidding, its $2. The fee is included with DRC Membership. A slightly used running clothing exchange is part of the program as well as left over items from races (t-shirts, gloves, etc) which are popular as give always.

Check the website above for info on the Jingle Bell Run this weekend.

I would expect a greatly reduced crowd at Health Strategies at 7:00 am on Saturday due to the Jingle Bell; but, there should be a few there for the run.

The Sunday Derby Group will meet at 7:30 am at the corner of Woodlawn & Madison in downtown Derby for a 10 miler. Water at the 5 mile mark, all are welcome to join the group.

The Wed Nite Group will meet at First Gear at 6:00 pm for a run through the downtown area and the river paths, all are welcome to join this fun group.

The Thu Nite Group will meet at 5:45 pm at the North Chisholm Creek Park for a 5 miler on the K-96 path. All are welcome to join the group. The park is north of K-96 on the west side of Woodlawn.

Have some good runs. Don't run in the dark without light and/or reflective clothing.
